Tactics ogre vs fft

I guess I just do a fair amount of training or something. The story is clunky and boring and time-consuming, the AI is pretty rudimentary, the way career classes work is pretty simplistic, and the interface is annoying in various ways (like, maybe I'm missing something, but I can't remember if there's an easy way to look at your characters' inventories during the deployment stage).Īlso, I haven't found it difficult this time round, and nor did I the last time round, but I appreciate that it's a pretty commonly mentioned gripe about the game. I'm playing through TO again at the moment (on my shiny new Micro) and it's as boring as I remember it the first time.

#Tactics ogre vs fft cracked#
IMO Edge prefer Tactics Ogre simply because it's harder to get hold of, and therefore more "hardcore." Not all it's cracked up to be. FFTA on the other hand, I'm still firing up for the odd mission now and then - It's still too easy, but it's involving, polished and just more fun.ĭoes it click? If anything, I found I grew to resent it as the reality (that it just isn't as good) set in. I think I got to the eighth mission (the one with a Knight and his cronies guarding the border) before stashing it in a drawer somewhere to collect dust. The deathblow came when the difficulty actually began to detract from the gameplay, as I found I had to wander around the map for random encounters just so I could level up enough to stand a chance in the next story mission - I hate being forced to level. Also, the summoning spells (initially feeling very impressive) are almost identical in appearance and damage levels - there's little incentive to use a new ability over an old one. Unfortunately, the feeling didn't last - after playing it some more, I began to notice how much slower and clunkier the game is than FFTA. When I first fired up Tactics Ogre, I actually thought it pissed on FF Tactics from a great height - it was was actually challenging, and had a plot more than a sentence long.
